RBI invites applications for Young Professionals, offers Rs 1.5 lakh monthly stipend

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has invited applications for the engagement of Young Professionals (YPs), offering selected candidates a fixed monthly stipend of Rs 1.5 lakh. The recruitment notification, issued on June 15, 2026, aims to attract talented graduates and professionals for policy-oriented assignments at the central bank.

A total of 12 contractual positions have been announced across specialised domains, including Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Technology, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, Climate Risk, Financial Markets, Payment Systems and Policy Research. The selected candidates will be posted at the RBI’s Central Office departments in Mumbai.

The engagement will initially be for three years and may be extended through mutual agreement for a maximum of five years. The position is purely contractual and full-time, with no additional allowances or benefits apart from the monthly stipend, which will be subject to applicable tax deductions.

Applicants must be between 21 and 30 years of age as of July 6, 2026. Eligibility criteria vary depending on the post, with candidates required to possess relevant postgraduate, professional, technical or research qualifications.

Applications will only be accepted through email, and the last date to apply is July 6, 2026. Candidates are required to submit a completed application form, curriculum vitae, academic certificates, a statement of interest, a sample of academic or policy writing and a recommendation or reference letter. The documents must be emailed to [email protected] with the prescribed subject line.

Following the screening process, shortlisted applicants will be invited for document verification and interviews. RBI has clarified that meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee selection. The recruitment offers an opportunity for young professionals to gain experience in policy formulation, financial regulation, technology governance and economic research while working with India’s central bank.
