Review:
The curtains rise to a cemetery scene wherein Shelton is weeping on the grave of his sister, Cia (Ofelia). The parish priest (Succor de Santa Cruz) steps in and consoles him. In a flashback, Shelton narrates the story about the untimely death of his sister.
The story revolves around Shelton, his younger brother, Neil (Victor), and their differently abled sister, Cia. Elsewhere, there’s Swizel and her sister, Natasha (Dacia), who come from a well-to-do family.
While Swizel is making plans to cheat Shelton and flee, being aware of her crooked ways, timely intervention helps him to get her trapped by the police. But in the bargain, Shelton loses his job.
On the other hand, unemployed Neil is in love with Natasha but fears that she may reject him after learning about his financial situation. One day, when Neil is visiting Natasaha, Swizel realises that he is the brother of Shelton, whom she blames for her predicament. She plans to extend full support to Neil in order to spite Shelton.
How does Swizel take revenge on Shelton? Do her plans work or fail? Ultimately, who is the winner in the game of love?
Comedian Sally’s tiatr ‘TumiSangat’ is a tale of love, hatred and revenge. It is a well scripted play, with sleek direction; the flow of events leaves the viewers glued to their seats.
With enough display of emotions and firmness in his voice, Trinidade has played his role to perfection. He has been ably assisted by Victor and Dacia, who play lovers. Dolly is in full command in her negative character. As police inspector, Mario displays talent. Succor de Santa Cruz is at ease in dual roles. But among all the characters, Ofelia takes the cake for her inimitable role of a differently abled person; she handles her character artistically.
In the comic acts, Reeza, Marcus, Aurelio and comedian Sally form a perfect quartet for some good laughter pills. Watch the foursome in the garments showroom and during the musical concert.
Although there are a handful of songs, the opening chorus is rendered by Ofelia and Reeza, followed by solos by Succor de Santa Cruz, Saby de Divar, Reeza and Dacia. Victor and Trinidade entertain with a duo and Dolly, Dacia and Succor render a trio. But a solo by Saby de Divar, duet by Saby and Reeza and a quartet by Marcus, Reeza, Sally and Aurelio receive encores.
