A musical mix for every mood

Kistu de Calangute’s second DVD, ‘Kalzant Dev Rauta’, has a collection of 10 songs on varied themes, interspersed with comedy.

The opening song, ‘Bikini’ by Anil/ Olga, highlights the ban on bikini and the motive of the government to introduce it. They have valid reasons why it should be scrapped and if at all implemented, its repercussions on the inflow of tourists in the state.
Another song, ‘Computer’ by Rumaldo, throws light on the use and misuse of this latest technology. Development in modern tools should be for the benefit of the society and not spell doom to those handling it, he says.
Songs ‘Shana’ by Bushka/Rosario Estibeiro, ‘Ixttagot’ by Anthony/Eddie/Agostinho/Kistu de Calangute and ‘Tujim Utram’ by Creto speak about relationships prevailing in society and its influence on individuals.
‘Atancho Serkar’ by Rons/Kistu de Calangute/ Conception brings to the fore the misdeeds of the government. It highlights the functioning of the state machinery and the impact it has on Goan society.
Song ‘Kirmi, Bolatkar’ by Rumaldo/Shalifa relates a tale of a man who turns insane after tragedy strikes his family. Criminals involved in thefts and rape cases deserve severe punishment behind the bars and at the gallows, the duet concludes.
‘Fire Brigade’, a duo by Benny/Agusto, has humour wrapped around it. While one seeks admission for his daughter in the fire department, the other counters him with opposition and valid reason.
Comic interludes by comedian Agostinho, Gregory, Rita and Anthony have a pinch of laughter, but do not entertain much. Picturesque locations chosen for the songs are eye-catching. Joywin Fernandes has done a fine job in cinematography and editing. Music for all the songs have been handled by Jalin D’Cruz and the album has been recorded at Al Studio, Margao.
