On the issue of strike
Issue is whether have they truthfully questioned themselves on their actions. The company expects some to report to duty soon having realized that slogan shouting etc is all good for a day or two, however, to provide for themselves and the parents and families they need to have a job which they chose by reporting for selection, undergoing training and accepting employment terms which were explained to all in a clear and transparent manner.
On alternative arrangements
The company arranged a fresh lot of highly trained lifeguards who will join operations on January 1, 2016. This is to ensure the safety & security of tourists visiting Goa during the peak tourist season. The company being aware of its lifeguards maturity level made alternative arrangements by assigning senior lifeguards from its sister concern in Goa and Mumbai and select group of volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout the day to ensure that neither were the tourists inconvenienced nor were they ever in any peril whilst enjoying their holiday.
On tourist safety
Whilst the government is taking all necessary steps to end the illegal strike, Drishti Lifesaving Pvt Ltd continues to focus on the safety of tourists. The company has already initiated steps to get additional lifeguards from other places to ensure safety of tourists visiting Goa. Drishti Lifesaving Pvt Ltd is confident that its striking lifeguards will realize their immaturity and understand the consequences of their adventure. Drishti continues to maintain its position that the strike is illegal and unjustifiable.
On company focus
The illegal and unjustifiable strike by Lifeguards is instigated by the union and the 17 persons who have no relation with the company or the lifeguards welfare. The company’s prime focus is to ensure that tourists visiting Goa at this peak holiday time have a safe visit and that we uphold the Goa Tourism brand.
