Herald: There is a strong opposition to your decision to merge GVP into the UGDP. Your take on this?
MICKKY: The people who are opposing are a communal force. I don’t care about them. My point is, Goa wants a secular party to rule the state and not the one which divides people on the basis of their religion. I am going back to a secular party. Now, GVP has got the touch of communal colour and therefore I want to leave the party. I had put up a proposal to join a secular party after I realised that there were some people in the party who were with BJP for personal gains.
Herald: Why does Radharao not want Mickky in UGDP?
MICKKY: There is no problem at all we have set and discussed in details. He said he is with me and said let’s go all out to defeat communal forces.
Herald: So what about Radharao’s media outbursts?
MICKKY: We had a meeting last night and everything is sorted now.
Herald: Why did you want to merge GVP with UGDP?
MICKKY: I regret my mistake of leaving UGDP and going to all national parties. Members of GVP, who have been closed to Bandodkar families, are ruling the GVP. Therefore, my proposal was to merge the GVP into UGDP.
Herald: There is a charge that UGDP is being uses and throw for politicians. Your view?
MICKKY: I agree. It was like that but henceforth it won’t be repeated. The national parties fooled the MLAs earlier and I realised this after being with NCP, Congress and BJP and hence I have decided to come back.
Herald: Mickky and Lyndon Monteiro were thick friends so what went wrong suddenly now?
MICKKY: Who is Lyndon Monteiro? What was he? Mickky has never looted anybody. Mickky is the same person what he was 16 years ago. And see the people who started their journey on a loaned motorcycle, what are they today.
Herald: You were a minister in BJP government and also supported it. So why is Mickky against BJP now?
MICKKY: Why? You tell me why the people of Goa supported them. Why the church supported them? We all supported the BJP but they have not resolved any issues.
