Review:
Rosaline (Roshan) deserts her family to stay true to Romeo (Peter) and waits for his arrival in the garden. When Romeo doesn’t turn up, Rosaline leaves. Meanwhile, a newborn child is abandoned in the garden by a stranger.
Romeo, who is actually just late, finally arrives and instead of meeting Rosaline, he finds the abandoned child and decides to adopt it. It is at that time that Rosaline comes back and spotting the child in Romeo’s arms, doubts him and runs into the arms of Robin, who had always desired her.
As husband and wife, Robin and Rosaline are blessed with two sons, Hayden and Charles. Hayden agrees to take over his father’s business, thereby winning his father’s love and admiration. Charles, on the other hand, expresses desire to embrace priesthood and faces strong opposition from his father.
Despite physical and mental torture, Charles receives support from his mother and joins the seminary.
On the other hand, Romeo gives up his dreams for the sake of Rosaline’s new future and focuses on raising his adopted child, Merlyn (Dencilla). Hayden gets involved with Merlyn, will he stay true to her? As a priest, what are the hurdles that Charles encounters? In moments of diversity, who assists Robin?
Peter/Roshan’s non-stop drama ‘Hero’ is a befitting tribute to all those who have embraced priesthood. In life, who are the actual heroes and who is a zero in society at large has been well portrayed in the drama.
A running mention has also been made about late Fr Bismarque Dias, whose case has been buried due to selfish interests. The sacrificial life of late Fr Savio has also been highlighted.
As a dictatorial father, Pegado stands tall and bold. Roshan and Peter win sympathy for their convincing characters. Brian comes in as the Good Samaritan.
Pierson and Dencilla display sufficient talent on stage in their respective roles. Clara as Bombara is sharp in her vengeful character. Johnny does justice to his double role and brief entries.
Brian, Caetano and Vanita form a comical trio and provide good laughter pills to the audience. The bucket episode is espicially hilarious. Several cantos introduced in the drama are appealing to the ear and Joaquim, Rom and team have played good music. Anthony de Ambajim has handled the lights effectively.
