Story: Mark (Creto) and Daniela (Antonette de Maina) are madly in love with each other but Cyrus Octalin (Rosario de Benaulim) is also interested in her. What dirty tricks does he play to win her over?
Review:
Mark belongs to a poor family, while Daniela comes from a middle class household but their family statuses do not hinder their love and their romance continues.
But Cyrus Octalin, who is the only son of landlord Diogin, starts taking an interest in Daniela. Meanwhile, Daniela’s dad, Orlando (Roseferns),fixes her union with his friend’s son, Charles (Ulhas Tari), who is abroad.
Charles’s unexpected arrival leaves Daniela in a dilemma. She then tells him that she is in love with Mark and amicably steps aside. But Cyrus isn’t so easy to convince; on one day when Daniela and Mark’s mother are away, he attempts to kill Mark with the help of some goons.
Mark is left disabled, almost in a vegetative state. This does not alter Daniela’s love for him and she stays by his side, praying that his condition would better. With no improvement in Mark’s health, Daniela’s father takes Mark’s consent and gets her married to Charles.
Now married to Charles, Daniela has a daughter, Amber who is quite attached to Mark; this affection plants a seed of doubt in Charles’s mind with regard to Amber’s paternity. What does Charles do to confirm said paternity? And what decision does he take with regard to Daniela? Where does doubt and suspicion lead to?
Roseferns’ tiatr ‘Pausa Pausa Yo Re Yo’ is a family story entwined with love, romance, revenge and doubts. It has twists and turns, with a good dose of suspense in the second half.
As usual, Roseferns, as the father, plays a convincing role. Ulhas Tari comes as a good Samaritan and displays his true colours when doubt creeps in. Antonette de Maina and Creto form a good pair, with the latter displaying multiple emotions simultaneously. Roma as mother appears cool in costume and dialogue. Rosario de Benaulim stands out in his negative role, with stress on that typical dialogue ‘Hanv Cyrus Octalin…’ repeated quite often. Teen Amber wins for her childlike appearance and comfort on stage.
In the comic acts, Agostinho, Selvy, Brian, Dorothy and Nato form a quintet for some laughter riot on stage, but below-the-belt comedy could have been avoided.
In the category of songs, Ageema entertains with the opening chorus, while Xavier Gomes, Roseferns, Lawry, Rosario de Benaulim and Simran have good solos. Duets by Roma and Caziton, Rosario and Simran are appealing but a solo by Marcus Vaz on Mahatma Gandhi and a quartet by Xavier, Marcus, Lawry and Brian receive encores.
