The hummer, Mercedes, BMW, Harley Davidson, Toyotas are polished and gleaming. The dogs are walked around the building, ISL matches are blaring on the television sets and the air conditioning is running full blast, just the way Mickky loves it. Four months and ten days later, he’s back in his hometown of Betalbatim. Two fancy android phones in comparison to Churchill’s Iphone has a continuous whatsapp feed.
Mickky is just back from a meeting in Canacona and makes a mental note of a meeting in Cortalim tomorrow; he’s also making notes of his previous meetings in Curtorim, Raia, Nuvem and Quepem. Just then the phone rings and he’s called for another meeting in Benaulim. He says he’s all good to come out to meet his supporters but there’s rosary at home and post that it’s fine.
He tells us how he couldn’t venture out the whole day as his kids got back from school and he spent a good day with them.
Also he’s looking into government job applications, envelopes marked confidential while he’s planning his strategy for a regional outfit. Mickky reminisces his days in jail and says that was a time of solitary confinement where he could mentally separate the chaff from the grain.
“There might have been arrogance but there are no scams in my cupboard, I was not jailed for theft and corruption and shows that my 15 year political career is a clean one. This government has shown its communal colours and I have had a bad taste of national parties. It’s time Mickky gives the people of Goa an alternative and I am working on that,” asserts Mickky.
Mickky began his movement and meeting and says the next 15 months before this government comes to an end is very crucial for him. He downplays Salcete alone and says he looks at South Goa and has it in him to capture Mormugao, Cortalim, Canacona, Quepem, Sanguem and Sanvordem besides his homeland of Benaulim and he will sound his bugle very soon. He also claims that he doesn’t need a Babush, Luizinho, Digamabar or anybody else to wins seats and hearts of Goans.
