Story: Leo (Willy) picks up Jerry (Joshua) from the airport and brings him into his family. What will be the consequences of his actions?
Review:
Leo and his wife, Jane (Jessica Gomes), live happily with their two children, (Dorin) Sawana and Tom (Roniber). But trouble sets in when Leo welcomes Jerry (Joshua) into his family.
After the deaths of his parents, Jerry is brought up by a caretaker in London. He comes down for holidays and enjoys the company of Leo’s children.
But Jane cannot digest the hard truth that Jerry is the son of her husband. Leo’s relationship with the nurse in the hospital during the course of treatment earlier had resulted in the birth of this child.
During his stay in Goa, Leo trains Jerry in football. He showers him with a lot of attention but somehow tends to neglect his wife and their two children.
Will Leo be able to detach himself from Jerry? How does he convince Jane about his ties with Jerry? What is the fate of Jane and her two children?
‘Good Bye Papa’ is a sequel to tiatr ‘I.C.U Bed No 2’. The extramarital ties are highlighted in the drama and the circumstances which resulted in such a tight situation.
As spouses, Willy and Jessica stand tall and enact their respective roles with gusto and style. Carmin and Princewell as friends of the couple have extended good support. Joshua, Sawana and Roniber, the child artistes on stage, have played their respective characters with ease. Dola as mother is impressive.
In the comic acts, Humbert, Aveena, Nato and Agnel entertain with some good laughter pills. But a little of overacting could have been avoided.
In the category of songs, solos by Olga, Rosario de Benaulim, Saby de Divar, duets by Jr Regan and Dola, Anil and Olga, duo by Benny de Aldona and Rosario de Benaulim and a trio by Joaquim, Benny and Jr Regan were entertaining.
The stage sets with changing scenes on the screen, besides the light effects, deserve a mention, but with the introduction of giant screen on stage, are we promoting traditional tiatr, which compulsorily include ‘podde’? A question for introspection. Overall, a good entertainer.
