Review:
The tiatr begins with a felicitation function in honour of Sanford (Evagrio) and Sanya (Elsa). The speaker (Pascoal D’Costa) reveals that the story that will unfold on stage, revolves around this elderly couple.
Sanford and Sanya are blessed with three sons and one daughter. One son passes away while the other two, Cain and Nester, marry Sara (Villea) and Meolla (Jesinha) respectively. Sanford and Sanya’s daughter, Caroline(Mezeal), remains unmarried due to superstitious beliefs.
After Stanford retires, Cain and Nester, along with their spouses, come in hopes of getting their hands on their father’s wealth. But they get nothing. Finally a decision is taken that Stanford will reside with one son, while Sanya will reside with the other.
This decision proves painful for the elderly couple. Meanwhile, Caroline, comfortable in her spinsterhood, decides to become a nun.
What is Stanford and Sanya’s fate, residing separately? Will they ever unite? When they come together, who gives them shelter? How do they reward the Good Samaritan?
The sacrificial life of parents and ungratefulness of children towards their parents in their old age form the highlight of Pascoal D’Costa’s tiatr ‘Kakut Korneamni Dakhoi’. The faithfulness towards one’s vocation has been well projected, but certain facts do not come to a logical conclusion.
Evagrio and Elsa as the elderly couple have displayed ample talent on stage. Jude, Vesvy, Villea and Jesinha as the young couples deliver promptly in brief entries. Mezeal as a nun is composed in her appearance and dialogue delivery. Anthony Pereira in a double role is outstanding. Teenagers Joshua and Wayne deserve appreciation for their acts too.
In the comic acts, (BJP) Connie, (MGP) Brian and (AAP) Selvia entertain as a trio and good efforts are made for some laughter riot.
Princewel, Valanka/Ebony/Jewel, Arica, Evagrio/Connie, Veena. Tracy, Lourdes, C D’Silva, Vesvy, Preeti, Brendon, Asleema, Nevilla, Issac, Leeroy/Sweeny entertain with songs in various categories.
Except for Brian in the comic acts and C D’Silva for rendition of a solo, the director has roped in all amateur artistes and deserves a special mention for that.
