Story: Shane (Neville) is in love with her college mate Raisa (Anneli). But Roby (Francis) is also interested in her and plots to win her over. Where will life take the three?
Review:
The curtains open to college students having a gala time, drinking alcohol in the garden. The principal of the college, Noronha (Rosario Botelho), drops by and warns his students about its consequences.
Roby’s mother, Samaira Pinto (Carmin), is a social worker, while Raisa’s father, Joe (Elvis), is an alcoholic. Shane informs Raisa’s father about his obsession to win over Raisa.
When Samaira learns about Shane and Raisa, she offers a bottle to Joe and strikes a deal with him. Coaxed by Samaira, Raisa makes allegations against Noronha that forces the management to dismiss the principal.
Roby is secretly involved with Abdul Bhai (Rocky) in the sale of drugs. But Raisa is unaware of his misdeeds. It is Shane who brings the hard truth to her notice.
Now, will Raisa leave Roby and go with Shane? How does Roby work out a plan to leave Shane bankrupt? Ultimately, who is victorious?
Elvis/Carmin’s tiatr ‘Mennache Paktte’ focuses on the youth and their involvement in relationship with others, besides falling prey to vices. It has several twists and turns that makes viewing interesting. At the very onset, the director introduces all his artistes on stage through a folklore song.
As a principal, Rosario Botelho plays his role confidently. Anneli enacts her sober character with ease. In a double role, Elvis stands out more powerfully as an alcoholic. Carmin as a social worker doles out her negative character with gusto. As a victim of drugs, Neville delivers his role with passion. Rocky is good in his brief entry as a drug dealer.
In the comic acts, Saby, Joel and Jolrisha come together as a comical trio for some laughter moments, but a couple of jokes appeared old.
In the category of songs, Mariano, Newita, Francis, Anneli entertain with solos, while there are duets from Anneli and Neville, Elvis and Carmin, Joel and Jolrisha, besides a duo from Mariano and Neville. A trio and a quartet were missing in the drama.
