MAPUSA: Ten-man Maina SC defeated St Anthony’s SC Marna-Siolim 5-4 in the Musa Ali Aga memorial football tournament organised by Eagles SC at Sankhalim municipal ground, on Thursday.
Maina SC colts drew the first blood in the 6th minute through the boots of Xoyuim Caimeno, 1-0.
After much probing St Anthony’s SC level terms through Kedar, 1-1.
On crossing over, St Anthony’s SC colts took the lead through Delish only to find Nickson Castanha level terms for Maina SC colts 2-2. With the match ending in a 2-2 draw, the penalty shoot-out was enforced wherein for Maina SC side Jovel, Joy and Nickson Castanha scored, while for St Anthony’s SC only Dalesh and Sahil scored.
Maina SC’s Joywin Carneiro received the man-of-the-match award from Sukur Aga.
