PANJIM: TriGoa organised the BRM 600 recently, the riders were allotted 40 hours to complete the randonee. The route took the riders from Panjim to Zarap, Maharashtra, through scenic roads alongside Chopdem and Tiracol Rivers.
The riders turned around from Zarap to head to Chicalim, Vasco and Karwar through the South Goa coastline of Cansaulim, Colva, Benaulim and Cavelossim towards Manki after Honnavar, Karnataka.
The BRM 300 riders got an opportunity to ride along with experienced Super Randonneurs till 260 kms point; they turned around at Barcem to Panjim to complete their endurance ride. The BRM 600 was completed without any support or special requests for safety vehicle. 12 of the 13 registered riders completed the brevet in the true spirit of randonneuring.
TriGoa congratulated, Shantanu Chakraborty from Surat who completed his 2nd SR of the season, his 10th BRM since November 2018. Raja Parasarthy from Chennai who presented the medals this year to the TriGoa Randonneurs holds the record in India for 10 SRs in a calendar year.
The 12 riders are: Sunil Verma, Daegal Godinho, Kunaal Malhotra, Venuvardhan Reddy, Hemant Chaturvedi, Sukumar Shetty, Dr. Vishwajit Faldesai and Vivek Ferrao for completing the SR series in just 42 days along with SR Jaganath Hede, SR Glenn DeSilva and Nataraj Nayak. TriGoa salutes Vivek Ferrao for completing the SR on a 40 year old single speed Roadster.
Volunteers were Sameer Uchil, Govind Prabhu Moni and Ajay Jadhav for manning the control points and making the riders comfortable. Special mention of Propedalerz Cycling Club, one of the oldest cycling clubs in Goa for their constant support and encouragement. The founder members of TriGoa are now Super Randonneurs.
Announcing the upcoming BRM 1200 – Goa to Kanyakumari on January 24, 10 riders have already registered for the brevet which will be a life changing experience for the riders and hold memories to cherish for a lifetime.
Also announcing on January 12, in Margao the BRM 200 | BRM 300 | BRM 600 and the Brevet Populaires 50 and 100.
