PANJIM: 13 students participated in conquering River Mandovi- an endurance swim across Mandovi River which was organised for students of Stepping Stones Primary School, Britona, on Thursday.
The participants aged 6-10, completed the endurance swim, a distance of 1 km across the Mandovi River from Ribandar to Divar. The swim was supported by the Drishti Group which provided the lifeguards, floats and jet skis to ensure the safety of each child.
The students who participated included, Ashton Fernandes, Amogh Lotlikar, Croydon Fernandes, Dhruv Naik, Elena Remedios, Marylin Dias, Nicole De Souza, Raj Gawde, Saeesh Kerkar, Saish Mandrekar, Sarah D’souza, Sarah Shah and Vaidehi Shetye and were coached at the Campal Swimming Complex, at the school’s annual swimming camp, by the school teachers and parent volunteers Vijay Xavier and Ajay Naik under the guidance of the Headmistress Nalini Rocha.
