18-year-old para-archer Sheetal Devi has once again redefined what’s possible. Born without arms and celebrated for shooting with her feet, Sheetal has achieved yet another extraordinary milestone—earning a place in India’s able-bodied junior archery team for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 Stage 3 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
After winning hearts with her bronze at the Paris Paralympics 2024, the young trailblazer impressed at the junior selection trials in Sonipat, finishing third overall among able-bodied archers. This historic achievement makes Sheetal the first para-athlete from India to qualify for an able-bodied international event.

Expressing her joy, Sheetal shared, “When I started competing, my dream was to play alongside able-bodied athletes. I didn’t make it at first, but I kept learning from every setback. Today, that dream is closer to reality. I secured Rank 3 in the Junior Asia Cup trials and will now represent India in the Sub Junior Asia Cup, in the able category.”
