Goa coach Mariano Dias’ training of Goa squad for Santosh Trophy entered day two at Chowgule ground, here today.
Yesterday, the Salgaocar players did not while on Tuesday there were only 27players. Dempo’s John Dias and Cliffton Gonsalves who could not attend the camp yesterday reported today.
Salgaocar’s Bevan D’Mello, Milagres Gonsalves, Marcus Mascarenhas, Francis Fernandes, William Colaco, Cajetan Fernandes and Anthony Barbosa failed to report today also. When contacted, Mariano confirmed that the seven players did not inform him about their inability.
The Salgaocar players who assembled only yesterday after the long holiday are understood to be undergoing regular tests in Vasco as per the team’s protocols and only then they are expected to join the coaching camp in Margao. At least one player is expected to report tomorrow since he has cleared all the tests, it is learnt, according to our Panjim Sports Reporter.
