2nd edition of The Jeep Trail on Sunday

PANJIM: Rebel 4×4 in association with FlashEye will be organising the 2nd edition of The Jeep Trail (TJT) 2019 on Sunday, July 21st at Faria Farms at Valpoi.
Disclosing this information at the media briefing, where the race route and trophies were unveiled, Rally Director Sandeep Mayekarsaid, “The second edition of The Jeep Trail has grown bigger compared to last edition. This year we have already received 35 entries for the vehicles and we are expecting more 25 to 30 vehicles to participate in the event. We have around 11 vehicles participating from neighbouring states.”
The rally will allow just two participants per vehicle while additional personal will be charged. “We are expecting around 55 vehicles registrations with over 200 participants,” added Mayekar.
“This is just one of the events of Rebel 4×4. We have planned a calendar for the driving and off-roading enthusiasts wherein the participants will get an opportunity to explore their potentials along with their machines as The Jeep Trail is a perfect platform for the energetic and driving enthusiasts giving them a unique experience across all terrains –from splashes to climbs, the TJT has everything to offer for the participants,” added Aaron Baptista The Jeep Trail director.
Vailanka D’Cruz, FlashEye director and rally coordinator said, “The trail will be categorised in petrol and diesel variants and there will be three prizes in each categories. There is also a special prize for the best vehicle in the convoy as the show stopper”
Praveen Shenoy, director Rebel 4×4 briefed the route for the rally which will begin at 9. 30 am at Faria farms, “The convoy will be flagged off at 9.30 a.m and then there shall be competition along the way. There will be obstacles, water crossing, rock climbing, articulations and slush along the way. The contestants will be judged on timings as the fastest to complete the trail will be adjudged winner,” explained Praveen.
The entry forms are available with The Jeep Trail officials Darrel Pires, Dickson Pires (Vasco), Sai Satardekar, Amay Damsekar (Dabolim), Siddarth Joshi and Chetan Faldesai (Margao) and Jade Fernandes (Ponda).
