CANCONA: Bannerman, Margao scored a 33-run victory over Colvalem Cricket Club in the 36th Nanda Lolayekar Trophy, organised by Mashem Cricket Club, Cancona, at Nirakar Maidan, Dapot, Mashem, on Monday.
Batting first, Bannerman scored 223 for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 30 overs.
Sanket Morajkar (55) and Rohit Naik (53) smashed fifties to guide their team to a commendable target. Sadanand Prabhugaokar impressed for Colvalem team with the figures of 4/33.
In reply, a brilliant bowling from Bannerman saw Colvalem team restrict to 190 for seven in 30 overs. Shaunak (40) top scored with the bat. Bannerman won the match by 33 runs.
Earlier Sarpanch of Loliem Polem Ajay Lolayekar inaugurated the tournament in the presence of panch members Bhushan Prabhugaokar, Sachin Naik and president of Mashem Cricket Club Sudesh Prabhudesai.
