80 cyclists take part in the ‘Go Girls Go’ ride

MARGAO: Eighty cyclists completed the 100-km and 50-km riding challenges in the all-Goa women cycling ride on October 9 at the annual signature cycle ride ‘Go Girls Go’, organised by Margao-based Xaxti Riders, espousing the theme ‘Save the Girl Child’, in collaboration with Office of the District Magistrate and District Appropriate Authority, PC-PNDT Act, Margao, South Goa.

Ms Snehal Prabhu, Deputy Collector, South Goa, flagged off the race; Binota Nadkarni was the coordinator.

The cyclists, aged 10 to 70 years, were a mix of doctors, architects, dentists, teachers, lawyers and students. 

Mothers and daughters rode together, bridging the generational gap throughthe power of the road and lure of the wheel. Each cyclist was presented with a ‘Finisher’s Medal’.
