A Yogesh, Kalidas, Neeta, Anshu, U Vasumathy win

PANJIM: A Yogesh from South Zone exhibited lightning speed, securing the 1st position with a remarkable time of 22.6 seconds in the men’s 200 meters run at the all-India LIC Games of 2023-24 on Day 2.

Dhiraj Mishra from Western Zone clinched the 2nd position with a time of 23.0 seconds, while V Vivek from South Central Zone secured the 3rd position with a time of 24.4 seconds.

The women’s 200 meters run witnessed a stellar performance by Neeta Mathew from South Zone, who claimed the 1st position with a swift time of 27.0 seconds. 

In the men’s discuss throw, Anshu Rai from North Central Zone seized the 1st position with an impressive throw of 48.71 meters. Shivam Singh from the same zone secured the 2nd position with a throw of 36.93 meters, closely followed by Amit Kumar Singh at the 3rd position with a throw of 36.15 meters.

U Vasumathy from South Zone dominated the women’s discuss throw, securing the 1st position with a powerful throw of 32.72 meters.

The men’s 10,000 meters run witnessed intense competition, with Kalidas Hirave from Western Zone claiming the 1st position with a commendable time of 31:21.9 seconds. Pramod Singh Patni from North Central Zone secured the 2nd position with a time of 32:40.1 seconds, while Sandip Kumar, also from North Central Zone, took the 3rd position with a time of 37:48.1 seconds.
