PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party Goa while hailing party’s Delhi government bill to establish first of its kind full-fledged Sports University said it would be a game changer for sportsperson from all over the country and not only Delhi.
AAP Goa Convener Elvis Gomes who has worked as Executive Director of Sports Authority of Goa said this will help gain respect they deserve to sportsperson besides creating the required mechanism to achieve excellence and put them on par with those pursuing academic degrees.
“Sportspersons will no longer have to worry about missing classes and will help them focus on what they love to do best and choose their own career in the sports field they opt for,” said Elvis while adding that he is glad that what he had tried to do in Goa with Parrikar has at least happened in Delhi.
He pointed out this will put an end of sportspersons being at the mercy of the government begging it for sports marks under “non-functional” sports policies and “dysfunctional” administrations.
