MARGAO: Aaron Farias (U-17 and U-19), Chandan Caro (U-13 and U-15) and Pradnya Caro (U-15 and U-17) clinched dual crowns each at the All-Goa State Major Ranking Table Tennis Championship 2023-24 organised by the South Goa Table Tennis Council, the Goa Table Tennis Association and the Sports Authority of Goa, at the Multipurpose Stadium, Fatorda, recently.
Arvind Kumar and Prutha Parrikar secured the men’s and women’s singles titles respectively. Ruhaan Shaikh and Aayushi Amonkar claimed victory in the U-11 boys and girls singles competitions, respectively. Additionally, Ishita Colaco triumphed in U-13 girls, while Urvi Surlakar emerged victorious in U-19 girls.
In the runners-up positions, notable performances were delivered by Giana George (girls U-11), Aayushi Amonkar (girls U-13), Neeza Kamat (girls U-15), Urvi Surlakar (girls U-17), Pradnya Caro (girls U-19), Ishita Colaco (women), Yug Prabhu (boys U-11), Dhruva Kamat (boys U-13), Khushal Naik (boys U-15), and Rishan Shaikh (boys U-17 & U-19).
Arvind Khutkar (director of DSYA), Vero Nunes (former president, GTTA) and GTTA officials Sudin Verenkar (president), Christopher Menezes (secretary), Aishwarya Nunes (treasurer), Nilesh Kirtani (Jt Secretary), Ajit Ghantker, and Kabir Pinto Makhija (members) were present at the closing ceremony.
Results: U-11 girls singles: Aayushi Amonkar bt Giana George 3-0 (11-3, 11-9, 11-6). U-11 boys singles: Ruhaan Shaikh bt Yug Prabhu 3-1 (11-7, 16-14, 11-13, 11-4). U-13 girls single: Ishita Colaco bt Aayushi Amonkar 3-0 (11-2, 11-2, 11-5). U-13 boys singles: Chandan Caro bt Dhruva Kamat 3-1 (11-6, 11-2, 10-12, 11-8). U-15 girls singles: Pradnya Caro bt Neeza Kamat 3-0 (13-11, 11-9, 11-6). U-15 boys singles: Chandan Caro bt Khushal Naik 3-2 (11-8, 11-6, 8-11, 9-11, 11-5).
U-17 girls singles: Pradnya Caro bt Urvi Surlakar 3-2 (9-11, 12-10, 3-11, 11-8, 11-9). U-17 boys singles: Aaron Farias bt Rishan Shaikh 3-0 (11-3, 11-3, 11-9).
