Aashrun, Anjana,Tejan, Anushka, Suraj claim titles

MARGAO: Aashrun Gautam and Anjana Kumari won the men’s and women’s singles titles respectively at the Rasik Memorial All Goa Major Ranking badminton tournament organised by Rasik Memorial Trust in collaboration with Goa Badminton Association (GBA) and SAG, at multipurpose hall, Fatorda, Margao, on Sunday. 
In the men’s singles final, the top seed Aashrun put up another inspired performance to register a dominating 21-15, 21-9 win over Tejan Fallary. In the women’s singles final, Anjana Kumari outplayed Yasmin Sayed winning 21-16, 21-12 to claim the title. 
Tejan Fallary and Anushka Kuvelkar had a comfortable outing against Floyd Araujo and Prajal Chimulkar winning 21-13, 21-13 to walk away with the mixed doubles title, their second on the trot. 
In the men’s doubles final, Tejan Fallary and Suraj Lama got into a good speed and rhythm to register a 21-11, 22-20 win over top seeds Floyd Araujo and Frederick Fernandes while the Veterans 55+ doubles title went the way of Cancio Mascarenhas and Manish Patel who hardly broke into a sweat in their 21-11, 21-11 win over Pradeep Dhond and A.S. Kamat. 
Justo D’ Costa (GBA Advisory committee member), Vinayak Kamat (SAG Coach), Narahar Thakur (President, GBA) and Rasik Memorial Trust members Kamalini Painguinkar ( Ex chair person Margao Municipality), Tanuja Painguinkar, Raju Painguinkar and Anil Painguinkar graced the closing function. 
Yash Desai and Harsh Mane won best upcoming youngster prizes.
