PANJIM: Aashrun Gautam will meet Tejan Fallary in men’s singles final while Anjana Kumari will battle it out against Yasmin Sayed in women’s singles final, at the Rasik Memorial All-Goa Major Ranking Badminton Tournament organised by Rasik Memorial Trust in collaboration with Goa Badminton Association, at Multipurpose Hall, Fatorda, on Sunday.
In men’s semi-finals, top seed Aashrun lost a set enroute to a 21-8, 20-22, 21-6 win over Umakant Sarge while number two seed Tejan Fallary defeated Sushil Nayak 21-17, 21-16 in the other semi finals.
In men’s doubles semi-finals, Floyd Araujo/Frederick Fernandes registered a commanding straight sets 23-21, 21-18 win over Sunny Sawant/Navneet Nasnodkar.
In the other semi-finals, Tejan Fallary/Suraj Lama hardly broke into a sweat in their 21-10, 21-16 win against Sushil Nayak/Pankaj Naik.
The women’s singles semi-final between Yasmin Sayed and Anar Singbal was closely contested with Yasmin registering a hard fought 22-20, 22-20 win over her opponent. Anjana Kumari had it easy against Aahana Nayak in the other semis, winning 21-6, 21-7.
In veterans men’s 55+doubles, Pradeep Dhond/AS Kamat have set up a title clash with Cancio Mascarenhas/Manish Patel.
