PANJIM: Aashrun Gautam, Tejan Fallary, Umakant Sarge and Karan Dhavaskar have moved into men’s singles semi-finals in the Late Waman (Dada) Kelekar Memorial State Badminton Championship for Seniors (men and women) organised by Ponda Shuttlers in collaboration with Goa Badminton Association and SAG, at Ponda Sports Complex, on Saturday.
In men’s doubles, Tejan Fallary/Suraj Lama, Navneet Nasnodkar /Sunny Sawant and Sanath Kamat/Jatinder Singh have booked their place into the semi-finals while top seeds Floyd Araujo/Fredrick Fernandes will clash with Karan Naik/Minar Pandit to seal the fourth semi-final spot.
Earlier, the State championship was inaugurated by Commissioner for NRI Affairs Narendra Sawaikar in the presence of Netra Kelekar, National player Anura Prabhudesai, GBA officials Narahar Thakur, Sandeep Heble , Ponda Shuttlers members Anil Painguinkar, Sandeep Khandeparkar and Sohan Kelekar.
