Active Youth Per Seraulim inter-ward football champs

RAIA: Active Youth Per Seraulim defeated Mix Blood Seraulim 6-3 via tie-breaker to clinch the Seraulim inter-ward football tournament organised by the Brazilian Boys, Duncolim-Seraulim, at the church ground, recently.

Mix Blood Seraulim scored their first goal in the 24th minute of the first half when Alliston Dias took a power-packed shot that kissed the goal post and rebounded back into play. Melroy Pacheco pounced on the rebound and slotted it home to give Mix Blood the lead of 1-0.

The first half ended with a 1-0 lead in favour of Mix Blood. In the second half, Mix Blood Seraulim scored their second goal in the 42nd minute through Melroy when he smartly tapped the ball into the outstretched hands of the goalkeeper to make it 2-0 and complete his brace.

Active Youth Per Seraulim obviously did not lose hope and kept up the pressure of scoring with just 12 minutes for the final whistle. They were rewarded in the 48th minute with a penalty when Steven Fernandes brought down a player. Savan, who was entrusted with the penalty shootout scored to make it 2-1.  Active Youth equalised when they converted through a free-kick to level the score to 2-2, just a minute before the final whistle.

In the resultant tie-breaker, Savan Lotlikar, Mohamed Sahil, Dev Karan and Azan Mulla scored for Active Youth. Mix Blood scored through Melroy only as Azan Mulla saved the penalties of Elijah Gomes and Ashley Fernandes.
