Aditee State chess champion

PANJIM: Top seed Aditee Aman Prabhugaonkar (ELO Rating 1781) emerged winner at the All Goa State Women's Chess Championship organised by JCI St Inez in collaboration with Tiswadi Taluka Chess Association, Goa Chess Association and SAG at Indoor Stadium, Campal-Panjim, on Sunday.

Aditee secured 6.5 points after the seventh round going undefeated.  Tanvi Hadkonkar (5.5 pts), Riddhi Zantye (5 pts) and Gunjal Chopdekar (5 pts) had to settle for the second, third and fourth places respectively. 
The top four players will participate at the Women’s National Challengers to be held at Tamil Nadu in June. 
The fifth and sixth places were won by Swera Braganca (5 pts), Alaina Pereira (5 pts), Aishwarya Thorat (4.5 pts), Alaya Vella D Cruz (4.5 pts), Sakshi Naik Gaonkar (4.5 pts) and Urvi Bandekar (4.5 pts) respectively.  
Outstanding category prizes were won by Shriya Patil (U-7), Sayuri Naik (U-9), Sarah Gayle Fernandes (U-11), Ekta Varkekar (U-13) and Snehal Naik (U-15).  
Nageshrao Sardesai (well-known artist and writer) was the chief guest for the prize distribution function.  
Kishor Bandekar (joint secretary AICF and secretary GCA), Mahesh Candolkar (president TTCA), Sanjay Belurkar (secretary TTCA), Arvind Mhamal (chief arbiter), Sahil Kamat (president JCI St Inez) and D. Pinge graced the occasion. 
Tournament coordinator Sandeep Heble proposed the vote of thanks. V. Bala and Vishala Shetty assisted in officiating the championship.
