The 15-day AFC “C” Licence football coaching course concluded at Duler, here on Wednesday.
It was conducted by AFC instructor and India’s goalkeeping coach Marcus Pacheco with Vandana D’Cruz being the course coordinator. In all, 19 coaches from Goa participated.
The participants went through 18 practical sessions, 20 theoretical classes and three video archives. Two seminars on laws of the game was conducted by Gokludas Nagvekar, a seminar on understanding the body in motion was explained by Dr. Mahindra Kuchodkar and nutrition and first aid was covered by Jovito Lopes.
Speaking to Herald, Marcus said, “Over the past few weeks the boys have worked extremely hard, both physically and mentally to keep up with the workload that the AFC has set. It was tough but we got through.”
During the course the participants were lucky to witness the final day I-League match between Salgaocar and Lajong at Duler.
On the final day, former Goan footballer Arthur Pereira who played for Orkay Mills dropped in to wish the coaches well. For the closing ceremony GFA secretary, Savio Messias was present along with the chief guest, Goa University sports head, Milton Fernandes.
