In the very fourth minute, St Mathew missed a glorious opportunity to surge ahead as Francisco D’Costa shot wide with only the rival keeper to beat. Agassaim YC comprising of mostly under-18 lads slowly got into the game and in the 20th minute Valerio Palha saw his long ranger sail inches over.
In the 24th minute, Agassaim YC’s Jesroy Fernandes headed wide off a free-kick by Valery D’Souza. Francisco D’Costa was unlucky in the 30th minute when his fierce shot was tipped over for a corner by the Agassaim keeper.
In the second half, the trend continued and the teams settled for a point. Anthony Afonso and Valery De Souza of Agassaim YC were cautioned by referee Celvin Fernandes.
