Not all strikers are blessed! There are many who are blessed with great skills and abilities while some are highly potent, but there are few whose presence impact the team.
Aaron Baretto is one such striker who has influenced Salgaocar FC in the youth set in last few years. Whether he starts or comes on as a substitute, the lad get his acts right and scripts his name on the score sheet.
Aaron Baretto has been utterly prolific at the youth level for Salgaocar FC, and is now with Salgoacar FC Juniors who will be plying their trade in the first division league. He will be gradually eased into action for the senior team.
The shy striker doesn’t speak much but his goals and on field performances have made him known and popular in Goa. Aaron is capable of scoring every kind of goal, and can turn a match on his own.
“As a striker, my main motto is to score goals for my teams. My job is to score and that’s my aim. There are no excuses on the field. If I get even a chance in the game, my task is to convert it and help my team. Whether we are losing or winning, like I said before, I just have to score,” expressed Aaron.
The Varca based lad has over 300 goals to his name wherein he has shown his qualities at the top youth level by scoring at National levels.
Aaron first kicked the ball at the age of three and from since then there is no stopping as the Salgaocar FC striker has been torturing the defenders.
“My first partner was my grandfather, who used to play with me back then when I was three. I picked up this sport probably because of the support I received from him and my parents.
Last season in the junior I-League zonals, Aaron scored nine goals for his side and helped them qualify for the final round.
Like every other player, Aaron too has set his sights in breaking into Indian Super League and getting a National call. “Right now I am with Salgaocar FC but my aim is to play at the top most level and that is Indian Super League, probably for FC Goa and then soon sport the National jersey, that is my goal at the moment,” expressed Aaron.
Just 18, Aaron is known among the team and was on many coaches’ signing list, but the lad chose to be with the parent club —Salgaocar FC with whom he began his journey from U-14 team.
“Aaron is a bright talent and he is in my plans. As a striker he has scored many goals and there is no doubt that he will shine in years to come. I had watched him play earlier and soon he will be with the Senior team,” explained Salgaocar FC Head coach Anthony Levino Pereira.
This season will be crucial for Aaron to make his mark as he eyes to make his senior debut soon. “Football is my passion and I enjoy the sport. I will continue to give my best and reach at the top soon. I would like to thank my mom and dad for their unending support and past coaches Anuj, Francisco Lobo, Cajetan Fernandes, Armando Colaco and Anthony for guiding and moulding me,” concluded Aaron.
