RAIA: Agxem Sports Club defeated Bhatti United Club, 3-1, to advance to the quarterfinals of the 1st Caniza Peixoto memorial football tournament, organised by Agxem Sports Club and held at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Monday.
Bhatti United took an early lead with a powerful shot by James Fernandes in the 6th minute. However, Agxem quickly equalised in the 12th minute through Savio Peixoto. Alroy Gomes then put Agxem ahead in the 21st minute with a well-placed shot, giving them a 2-1 lead at halftime.
In the second half, both teams battled for control, with Bhatti United’s Macroy, Franky, and Patrick pushing hard for an equaliser. Despite their efforts, Agxem’s defense remained solid. In the 48th minute, Savio Peixoto scored again from the top of the box, completing his brace and securing the victory for Agxem.
