AIFF Grassroots Leaders Course organized by FC Goa

PANJIM: The AIFF Grassroots Leaders Course was organised by FC GOA with support from Goa Football Association (GFA), Goa Football Development Council (GFDC) and Goa University at the Goa University ground,recently.

PANJIM: The AIFF Grassroots Leaders Course was organised by FC GOA with support from Goa Football Association (GFA), Goa Football Development Council (GFDC) and Goa University at the Goa University ground,recently.
The three-day course was delivered by Anju Turambekar, Grassroots License Instructor of the All India Football Federation (AIFF).
Anju Turambekar stated that, “It was amazing to see the response and behaviour of the coaches change over a period of three days of the course. The kids too have shown excellent passion for the sport and amazing knowledge on football which makes it very important to have good training coaches. This course will help bridge the gap between coaches and children. This is a very good initiative taken up by FC Goa and will go a long way in developing grassroots talent in Goa”.
Katz Naidoo, Technical Director of FC Goa’s grassroots said, “This initiative by FC Goa is a tremendous contribution for all its centres. The course has emphasised on coaching with supervision and will form the basis of a good foundation. The festival saw participation from different age groups with an exceptional talent pool. The most important experience of this exercise was fun while learning”.
The Grassroots Leaders Course saw overwhelming response and witnessed participation from women as well who contributed 30 percent of the total participants. 
The three-day course focused on identifying and creating leaders at the grassroots level and consisted of theory and practical session’s .The course also involved the participation of FC Goa’s grassroots development centres’ players.
The closing ceremony of the course was attended by Francis D’Souza, ex-Indian international, GFA General Secretary Jason Monserrate, Goa Football Development Council CEO, Alexio Da Costa as well as FC Goa officials Katz Naidoo and Ashley Furtado. 
The dignitaries present gave away the certificates to the participants.
