PANJIM: Aishwarya Jadhav achieved a stunning treble, winning the girls’ under-16, mixed doubles and ladies singles titles at the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2023 tennis tournament, while Kafil Kadvekar won the men’s singles finals.
Fresh from her victory in the girls’ under-16 category, Aishwarya defeated Prapti in the ladies singles final (6-0, 6-1) and paired up with Arshad Desai in the mixed doubles category to defeat Kafil and Prapti (2-6, 7-6, 10-7).
Incidentally in the men’s singles finals, Kafil also defeated Ashwin Narsinghani in two straight sets, both of which spilled into tiebreakers (7-6; 7-6)
In the men’s doubles final, Vikrant Tandale/Siddhant Deshpande beat Tejas Shevde/Nishad Shevde (3-6, 6-2, 10-5).
The 8th edition of the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2023 had witnessed record participation, with 386 tennis players registering for the event, out of which 199 had registered under the veterans category, while 187 players had registered for the open category.
