TALEIGAO: Aivao Youth Club defeated Aivao United FC 2-0 in the GFA Second Division Ilhas Zone at Taleigao ground, on Wednesday.
The winners scored a goal each in either half of play.
After playing on equal front for more than half an hour, Aivao Youth Club finally managed to break open the rival defence and scored through Rohit Gawas in the 36th minute.
In the second half, Aivao United tried their best to get back in the game but solid defending from the last line of Aivao Youth Club denied their opponents from scoring.
At the hour mark, Aivao Youth Club doubled the account through Shidharth Naik.
In another match at Agassaim ground, Young Boys of Tonca defeated Football Club Mardol 2-1.
Young Boys of Tonca scored their first goal in the 40th minute through Shubham Shirwaikar.
In the second half, YBT consolidated their lead in the 88th minute through Pandurang Gawas.
FC Mardol pulled a late goal in the second half injury time through Joywin Costa.
