Aizawl, RFYC match ends in a thrilling 2-2 draw

UTORDA: Aizawl FC and Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) match ended in a 2-2 draw in the Nike Premier Cup held at the Utorda ground on Thursday.

UTORDA: Aizawl FC and Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) match ended in a 2-2 draw in the Nike Premier Cup held at the Utorda ground on Thursday.
It was Balaji Ganesan who scored for RFYC in the 48th minute of the game with a power drive that put them 1-0 in front.
There were three late goals starting with Aizawl who scored the equaliser in the 90th minute through Lal Famkima.
They took the lead in the 90+2 minute through Malsawmtluanga Pautu.
RFYC levelled terms in 90+3 minutes as the game ended 2-2.
Zodin Puia was the busier of the two goalkeepers. Anish Chhikara and Thoi Singh were using their pace to get in behind the Aizawl defence. Atish Chhikara also came close from a header. Aizawl had an opportunity that was created by Lalruatkima when he a pass into the box but no one got on the end of it.
M. Pautu put pressure on the RFYC Boys and the goalkeeper Birendra Singh awkwardly saves it just in time. Lal Famkima also put in a dangerous ball into the box that was tough to collect. But Singh made the crucial interventions when he was called into action. Reliance’s Thoi Singh also had a sight of goal when he got into the box and held off two defenders but the Aizawl defence managed to snuff out the danger in time.
Aizawl won a penalty in the 80th minute. Lal Famkima stepped up but his shot hit the post and his rebound into the net was adjudged to be offside.
Meanwhile, RFYC almost scored a second when Ahmed Laskar struck a powerful shot from the left but the keeper made a crucial save.
Aizawl fought till the end and got their equaliser late on.A free-kick from Lal Remruata was headed in by Lal Famkima.
This was followed by a well placed shot by M.Pautu as he steered the past three Reliance FYC players and into the net.
There was time for another goal as Muhammed Basith scored in the 90+3 minutes to make it 2-2.
