Altogether, 166 athletes from all over Canacona participated in the event.
In the under-13 boys category Ajay Velip finished first while Sarvanand Velip and Gouresh Velip settled for the second and third spot respectively.
In the girl’s event, Sapana Gaonkar topped, Pratiksha Gaonkar finished second and Ankita Velip third.
Pradeep Gaonkar secured the podium finish in the under-16 boy’s race as Ajay Gaonkar and Ramdas Gaonkar settled for the second and third place finish.
Chaitali Bhandari topped in the girl’s category and Soni Zoro settled for second spot with Sulaksha Zoro finishing third.
Vinay Gaonkar clinched the under-19 boy’s crown. Ajay Gaonkar settled for second and Roshan Gaonkar third. In the girl’s tie, Leena Gaonkar topped ahead of Sufala Velip, who finished second and Thame Baudan in third position.
Chief guest Daya Pagi, ZP member gave away the prizes in the presence of guest of honour Bhushan Prabhugaonkar, Sarpanch VP Loliem-Polem; Mahesh Naik, Sarpanch Poinginim Panchayat. Paresh Kamat, Secretary Goa Athletic Association (GAA) Vallabh Tengse, Shailesh Naik and other panch members were also present.
