Akeraj tricks for Oratory

 Akeraj Martins was in goal-scoring mood as he struck a delightful hat-trick for Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim as they overcame Portais Sporting Club 3-1 in GFA’s U-14 league at Don Bosco ground, Panjim on Thursday. Don Bosco led 2-0 at the interval.
Don Bosco took the lead early in the match when Paxton Riberio crossed from the wing and Akeraj headed home. Shortly after, Akeraj double Don Bosco’s lead with a sublime solo effort.
After the breather, Portais pulled a goal back, but Don Bosco had the last laugh as Akeraj curled in a spectacular free kick.
At Pilar ground, Jawahar Club, Ponda triumphed 3-0 over Fr Agnelo Youth Centre, Pilar. Jolitan opened the scoring in the 5th minute as he managed to tap in a rebound, after the rival goalkeeper could not hold onto the ball.
After the change of ends, Aaren did well to win the ball in Pilar’s box before slotting home.
Ten minutes later, Valencio punted home from close range to seal the three points for Jawahar.
In a round-up of the other GFA U-14 matches, Ave Maria Athletic & WA stormed to a 10-0 win over Sarzora, Orlim Sports Club blanked Young Strikers 5-0, Wilred Leisure Sports Club downed Guardian Angel Sports Club 6-3 and Betalbatim defeated Verna Sports Club 2-0.
