PANJIM: Albert Developers Taleigao defeated last year champions Shantadurga Betim by 27 runs in the final of the Betim United All-Goa Panchayat level T-20 cricket tournament, at Sports Authority gound (SAG) Campal, on Tuesday.
Albert Developers after winning the toss opted to bat and scored 180 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Man-of-the-Match Tek Bahadur’s had a brilliant knock of 80 runs with 12 hits to the fence, Rohit Potekar contribution of 30 runs and Gaurav Dessai 28(not out) also helped Albert Developers in putting together a decent total.
In reply, Shatadurga Betim went all out in attack as they chased the challenging target but fell short as they managed to score 153 for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Triroy Kubal (36), Umesh Naik (28) and Rajshekar Harikant (23) contributed to the chase.
The Albert Developers bowlers Tek Bahadur and Saifali Karajay claimed 3 and 2 wickets giving away 28 and 20 runs respectively.
Albert Developers were awarded Rs 50,000 along with the trophy while Shantadurga Betim had to be content with runners-up trophy and Rs 25,000.
