PANJIM: Albert Developers and SKC Warriors booked their place in the last eight stage of the 16th Sanguem T-20 cricket tournament, organised by Sanguem Cricketers, at Sanguem Cricket Academy ground, on Wednesday.
In the first match, Albert Developers defeated Sanvordem United by eight wickets. Batting first, Sanvordem United scored 139 for 8 in allotted 20 overs.
Later Amogh Desai (67*) and Darshan Misal (37*) easily chased the required runs with eight wickets in hand.
In the second match, SKC Warriors defeated Nandayee CC by the same margin.
Batting first, Nandaee CC inning was restricted to 111 for 7 in allotted 20 overs. In reply, SKC Warriors scored 113 for 2 in 11.4 overs.
On Tuesday, Ghumteshwar CC and Khutkar Brothers moved into the quarter-finals defeating their respective opponents.
In the first match, Ghumteshwar CC defeated Paiguin Multipurpose by 6 wickets while in the second match Khutkar Brothers defeated Saibab Sports Club by 26 runs.
Batting first, Paiguin Multipurpose set up a target of 116 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Viraj Puranik (26) and Vaibhav Gaonkar (24) were the top contributors for Paiguin.
In reply, A blistering knock by Naushad Shaikh (46 runs) helped Ghumteshwar CC chase down the target in just 12 overs for the loss of four wickets.
