MAPUSA: Almeida Gama registered a hard fought 1-0 win over Salis Silva in the finals of the Parra Panchayat Football Cup, organised by PVC Parra played at Parra ground, recently.
The all important goal was scored by Myron in the fifth minute.
A fine through pass by Claudio Pacheco was collected by Myron who finished with a neat placement to the far corner of the goal.
Salis Silva tried all their best to equalise but the defense of Almeida Gama failed to bulge under pressure with Sankesh was the strong pillar in defence for Almeida Gama.
Almeida Gama returned home with the winners’ trophy and cash prize of Rs. 20,000, while Salis Silva had to be content with the runners-up cash prize of Rs. 15,000
Chief guest Michael Lobo-Minister of Waste Management, Science & Technology gave away the prizes to the winners & runners-up. Deliaha Lobo-Sarpanch of Parra and other Panch members gave away the individual prizes.
