MAPUSA: Almeida Gama Boom had to wait for the penalty shoot-out before they defeated Jacknim Challengers by 4-2 margin and qualified for the final of the inter-ward Parra panchayat Football Cup 2021, organised by PVC Association, played at Parra ground, here, on Sunday.
At the end of the regulation time, the teams were locked in a 1-1 draw.
It was Almeida Gama Star that drew the first blood in the first half when Magan connected a cross from Mathias into the goal to give his side the lead.
With just a couple of minutes for the final whistle, Jackni were awarded a penalty when Atish Mirajkar from Jackni Challengers was tackled inside the danger zone by Mathais. Billu Chauhan stepped forward and scored the equaliser.
To decide the winner, the penalty shootout was enforced where for Almeida unit Sankesh, Rupesh, Mathais and Garry scored while for Jackni outfit Atish and Ashish scored.
