PANJIM: Ambelim Queens registered a fluent 3-0 win over Cuncolim Union in the GFA Women’s League match played at Ambelim ground, on Monday.
Ambelim Queens attacked from the word go and outplayed their opponents in the initial quarter. The host soon converted their possession into lead when Anline Fernandes drew the first blood with a sublime finish, 1-0.
Cuncolim Union did try to make a statement in the game but rival defender Arpita Pednekar was outstanding for Ambelim. At the other end, Ambelim doubled the lead through Anline in the 25th minute. The winners led 2-0 at the break.
Changing ends, Ambelim continued their dominance as Khushboo Saundatikar and Paloma Pires continuously tormented the rival defence. Finally Arpita scored the third of the game to take it beyond Cuncolim Union, 3-0.
