CHINCHINIM: Ambelim SC defeated United Club of Benaulim, 3-1, and moved into the quarterfinals of the Fr Bruno Leitao Memoral Cup, organised by Union of Chinchinim Villagers, at Our lady of Hope Church ground, Chinchinim, on Monday.
Cletus Pinto of Ambelim was at his best with his shooting power and dribbling too, while for Benaulim Keegan Fernandes gave his best.
Ambelim opened the scoreline through Semson Fernandes with a power backed shot from a pass of Perryson Fernandes in the 10th minute. On the other end Keegan of Benaulim missed to equalise in the 18th minute.
As the match progressed in the second half, Cletus netted the second goal for Ambelim in the 45th minute with a clean pole finish. It was again Cletus who scored a brace and 3rd goal for Ambelim in the 50th minute.
In the 51st minute, Keegan pulled a goal back for Benaulim.
Man-of-the-match was awarded to Cletus Pinto who scored a brace for Ambelim.
