CUNCOLIM: A fine hat-trick from Jade Colaco helped Ambelim Sports Club to defeat United Club of Palolem 4-3 and move into the semi-finals of the Rising Cup inter-village football tournament organised Rising Club of Sanvorcotta, at Cuncolim School ground, Cuncolim, on Tuesday.
All the goals were scored in the second session. It was UC Palolem who took lead in the 39th minute through Alvito Miranda off a pass from Shalachi Cardozo. Five minutes later, Michael Silva cancelled the lead of UC Palolem after capitalizing on a cross from Samson Fernandes.
Thereafter, Jade Colaco scored three quick goals and completed his hat-trick in the 49th, 55th and 66th minutes. Down by 4-1 margin, UC Palolem scored two goals through Shalachi Cardozo and Alvito Miranda in the last five minutes. Jade Colaco was adjudged as the man-of-the-match.
