SANVORCOTTO-CUNCOLIM: Ambelim SC registered a solitary goal win over Rossman Cruz, Nagoa Verna to move into the quarter-finals of the 10th Cuncolim Union inter-village rolling football tournament, organised by Cuncolim Union, at Cuncolim ground, on Sunday.
Rossman’s Hilton Fernandes missed a chance to score in the tenth minute. Three minutes, Ambelim’s Nial Cardozo shot wide. However, in the 20th minute, Nial Cardozo made sure that he didn’t make a mistake and netted the match-winner with a placement shot in the 20th minute.
Rossman’s Hilton Fernandes missed a penalty kick as the latter shot over the Ambelim cross bar in the 32nd minute. With just a minute left for the final whistle, Rossman’s Savio Fernandes missed the target by whisker.
Ambelim SC will now meet Mandopa SC in the quarter-finals on October 16.
