SANGUEM: In the opening match of 11-a-side All-Goa inter-village football tournament organised by Uguem Rising Club at URC Club ground, Uguem, Ambelim SC got the better of Carmona SC in the tie-breaker.
The match ended in a goalless draw at the end of regulation time, resulting in a tie-breaker. Ambelim SC proved to be better shooters 5-4. During the regulation time, both the teams played an attacking football forcing attacks and counter attacks at regular interval keeping the crowd on their toes.
Earlier, Chaplain of Our Lady of Piety Chapel, Uguem, Fr Abel and Assistant Chaplain Fr Pascoal, Sarpanch of Uguem Village Panchayat Bharti Naik and panchas were introduced to the players.Velroy Fernandes of Ambelim SC was awarded the man-of-the-match award.
