CHINCHINIM: Ambelim Sports Club, Cansaulim got the better of CAC Cansaulim 4- 3-via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the 23rd All Goa Our Lady of Merces 8-a-side inter-village tournament, at Our Lady of Hope church ground, Chinchinim, on Saturday.
Agnelo D’Souza of CAC Sport Club, Cansaulim, in the 13th minute scored the first goal with a neat placement giving no chance to Ambelim keeper Ozen.
Samson Fernades of Ambelim equalised in the 28th minute.
Post resumption, in the 36th minute, Asfin Pinto put Ambelim Sport Club into the lead to make it 2-1. In the 45th minute CAC Cansaulim’s Angelo D’Souza netted his second goal to level the score. In the 52nd minute, Dominic Soares of CAC made it 3-2. Asfin Pinto equalised in the injury time.
In the tie-breaker Jenito, Desmond Samson and Blasco found the net for Ambelim SC while Arron, Agnelo, and Aaron scored for CAC Cansaulim.
