BAMBORDA-VERNA: Ambolur Boys defeated Poriebhat Boys by a solitary goal to clinch the Youth of Bamborda trophy in the 2nd all Verna Salcette inter-ward football tournament organised by Youth of Bamborda, at Verna panchayat ground, on Sunday.
Ambolur boys netted the match winner through Elory Miniz’s who shot of Desmond Gama’s through ball in the 16th minute.
Poriebhat’s Vincent missed a chance to score in the 23rd minute. Lenoy also missed chance to score in the 47th minute.
The winner were awarded Rs 10,000 while the runners up received Rs 8,000 plus trophies.
Fr Benjamin Rock Victoria, parish priest of Our Lady of Rosary Church, Curca was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners up in the presence of upcoming striker Shubert Fernandes of Bamborda, Verna, Francis, social worker, Isdorio Rodrigues, Ex-MPT player and club officials.
