PANJIM: Fide Master Audi Ameya outwitted several Grand Masters and International Masters in the 18th Delhi International Open Grand Master’s Chess Tournament, held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, on Thursday, to achieve final International Master’s norm.
Ameya began as the 53rd seed of the tournament, and put up a scintillating performance as he beat GM Bogdanovich Stanislav (2562) of Ukraine, WGM Kiran Manisha Mohanty (2133) of India, and drew with GM Mchedishvili Mikheil (2578) of Georgia, and IM Gholami Aryan (2541) of Iran and GM Sahaj Grover (2521) of India.
Ameya put up a rating performance of 2469.
