PANJIM: Goa’s Ameya Audi displayed fantastic performance in the recently concluded Roto Lawyer’s Cup international FIDE rated open chess tournament, organized by the Bar Association (R), Karnataka, under the aegis of All-India Chess Federation and United Karnataka Chess Association (KCA), in Karnantaka, recently.
Ameya maintained great tempo and consistency to win five, draw three for 6.5 points out of 9 rounds. Ameya stood joint fourth but had to satisfy for the fifteenth place on bucholz. There were a total of 284 players which included 13 titled players.
The U-25 State champion, who is a student of RMS College Margao had an effortless draw against the International Master M Hegde Ravi Gopal (2209), Kunal M (2351) of Tamil Nadu, Arvind Shastry (2213) of Karnataka and won against Arjun Kalyan (2149) of Tamil Nadu and Candidate Master Nikhil Magizhnan of Tamil Nadu.
Ameya will gain 89 elos from his performance. His performance was highly appreciated by the KCA.
